New Year, new Portland cannabis dispensaries are on their way. For both adult-use and medical use, your cannabis options are about to expand.
Two New Dispensaries, and More To come
There are already two new cannabis dispensaries ready to open in Portland since recent change in their approval process. The first Portland dispensaries to benefit are Grass Roots Marijuana Shop and SeaWeed Co. This may come as a surprise. Grass Roots Marijuana Shop is actually Portland’s first Adult-Use dispensary to open. Up until now, dispensaries in the Portland area were restricted to offering Medical-use cannabis along with their adult-use options.
Why The Sudden Change?
Back in October of 2020, the Portland the city council voted to do away with the 20-store cap. This has resulted in licensing almost every dispensary that applied. Only two applications have been denied so far. Compare that with the two stores already open and the 31 that are sent to open by the end of November, and you can expect a huge uptick in cannabis options.
On top of that, there are two more medical only stores that have also been approved to open. The cannabis industry in Portland is looking great at the start of 2021. Every new Portland cannabis dispensary is adding to that charge. Let’s keep it going!
